- SABA - Winter Denim Range
Tractor Design School - Eskimo Mini Breif - This mini brief was to given to us by Zoe Pollitt from Eskimo Design (www.eskimodesign.com.au) create a style for the Winter 2012 Denim Range. This concept was given a 5 day turn-around.Saba was the first Australian brand in to import Japanese Denim for his fashion lines. Although this is not a main feature of the current range, 2012 marks a year that goes back to the roots. Japanese denim is back. This concept for this theme takes its inspiration from the precise strokes of traditional Japanese Kanji characters as well as the layout and the rice paper that calligraphers use to work with. Silhouette sformed by light on rice paper dividers are also part of the natural beauty that forms the visual language of this theme.
The packaging takes inspiration from the traditional style and layout of Japanese Kanji Illustration.
Unlike most denim, the packaging for this range also works on a store level, being able to be stacked on shelves with all necessary information remaining visible.
The mailout again uses the look of semi-transparent rice paper.
The theme can extend throughout the store. Rice paper dividers with lights behind them create a visual that is distinctly Japanese.
